New Signings Play Monty Betham and Ned Catic will make their debuts for Wakefield in Friday's friendly with York.
The overseas recruits will line up alongside fellow new signings Paul White and Jon Whittle as coach Tony Smith toys with his options ahead of the new season.
Regular first-teamers Mark Field, Kevin Henderson, Darrell Griffin, David Wrench and Jamie Field will also start in the first of two friendlies with the second coming against Castleford at The Jungle on Sunday.
The coach explained: "We're mixing and matching. Ideally we would have liked a friendly next weekend. But we'll be in Portugal and that will be more beneficial.
"It shows the depth of the squad that we can put out two squads over the same weekend."
Meanwhile Smith added that the Wildcats could be interested in sacked Leeds prop Danny Ward as they have a vacancy following the collapse of the move to bring in Newcastle winger Craig Hall.
"Danny is a player I admire and we have one place open on the 20-20 rule. But I would prefer a centre or winger. We're not going to rush in and spend money now. Something always crops up."
The Yorkshire club are not interested, though, in old boy Henry Paul, who is struggling to get a game with Gloucester in the Guinness Premiership.
