The agent of Danny Ward says the former Leeds forward will not be out of work for long following his dismissal by the Headingley club on Monday.
The Great Britain international had his contract terminated with immediate effect for 'a series of breaches of club rules over the last 12 months'.
But Ron Hill, of ECH Sports Management, said at least four Super League clubs had shown an interest in the prop and is confident of securing a new club for the player in time for the new season, which gets under way on February 10.
"I'd be surprised if we don't get him fixed up," Hill said on releasing a statement of apology on behalf of his client.
"Danny is deeply embarrassed and upset by the termination of his contract with Leeds Rhinos," it said.
"He would like to apologise to all the supporters, (chairman) Paul Caddick, (chief executive) Gary Hetherington, (head coach) Tony Smith and all his playing and working colleagues at Headingley, for any shame he has brought upon the club.
"There will be no further comment from Danny on his dismissal as he looks forward to trying to resurrect his career in pastures new." |
